These technicians should be proficient in two or more technical disciplines (VoIP / SIP, Data, Transport and Unified Communications). Have a basic understanding of telephony including some data network background. Acts as liaison between customers and company personnel in managing requests or issues. Ensures safeguarding of confidential information accessed in the performance of duties. This is where youu0026rsquoll shine: Knowledge with SIP and VoIP protocols, network QOS, IP routing, and Ethernet switching. Provisions SIP lines, SIP trunks, SIP PRI in phone switches, such as the Metaswitch Provides qualitative technical service assurance support to internal and external customers Maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) on incidents. Responsible for service assurance for all first and second-level network troubleshooting for switching, data services, and transport including call routing, switch translations, data routing, internal network transport topology, and last-mile transport to customer demarc. Performs all product installation and coordination related to network implementation. Call queue coverage, initial network configuration, and escalation requests as required. Documents all work performed in a comprehensive ordering system. Coordinates with project management, voice and data vendors, and field service personnel to activate new services. Tests new circuits and coordinates necessary repair activity with the Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) providing the circuit. Understanding of dynamic routing protocols. Provides off-hour, on-call, and weekend coverage as required. Performs additional duties or projects as assigned. To be amazing in this role, youu0026rsquoll need: Associate degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated professional customer-facing communication skills. Extensive experience in designing, installing, and maintaining secure IP networks. Hands-on network and CPE device configuration or support experience with complex IP networking required. Understanding of VoIP protocols, SIP signaling, IP routing, Ethernet switching Experience with hosted and cloud-based applications and services. Must have basic keyboarding skills at 30wpm. Skilled at reading and interpreting technical instructions as applicable to job duties. Maintain accurate customer-related documentation and database information.
